Hello all! With the upcoming holiday weekend (Labor Day for us U.S. folks, anyway), I wanted to spread the love that is the Scarred Lands campaign setting for 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons. Originally published for 3rd Edition by Swords & Sorcery Studios, the post-apocalyptic fantasy setting got a 5E update via Kickstarter thanks to Onyx Path Publishing. That was exciting enough to me, as I was always a fan of the setting, and have plane hopped my players over to the world of Scarn on multiple occasions. But then, even MORE exciting, Onyx Path opened up the Slarecian Vault, a community content market that allows people to publish their own materials for the Scarred Lands setting! So, of course I jumped on that band wagon!
Slarecian Vault is hosted by DriveThruRPG.com, who also hosts a multitude of other store fronts for publishers, most notably the DMs Guild, which allows you to publish works based in Wizards of the Coast’s settings, such as the Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, and Eberron. Up until now, DMs Guild has been where all of my material has been published, and it is probably the most used store front, as many groups that are playing 5E are playing in one of those settings, or are doing their own homebrew stuff and so don’t really need to pick up 3rd party material. DriveThruRPG also hosts a plethora of 5E material that is generic or has a new setting published by an independent publisher.
Slarecian Vault has been an awesome opportunity, and I wanted to celebrate some Scarred Lands fun by running a sale on my first two publications available on there. The first is Scarred Races, a player and DM options book (mostly player) that provides new and fun options for the setting. The second is an adventure, A Titanic Feast, that is actually a part of a group collaboration that I was a part of, which created the Vengeance of the Shunned campaign arc for the Scarred Lands setting.
